About

Hello!

Fomato is a stationery store inspired by watercolor art, and Taiwanese and Japanese stationery.  The stationery/greeting cards are written/drawn/nitpicked by Emmie Hsu (me), and are sold in retail shops in the U.S., Canada, and some other places.

To view a list of retailers, please click here.

There are three types of cards:
• Letterpress cards; each individually pressed on a Vandercook press and trimmed with a vintage guillotine cutter
• Vector-illustrated cards, featuring random topics and lots of text
• Watercolor cards, painted with pricey brushes (four of which were recently eaten by cats) (not even my cats), and reproduced on thick matte card stock.

I grew up in Kansas and spent several summers in Taiwan, where my sisters and I wandered around eating street food, petting stray dogs and scratching our 200+ mosquito bites, and then going into stationery shops and rubbing our grimy hands all over their beautiful cards, stationery and stickers.  The interesting items we drooled over in those shops inspired this line.

Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have questions, need assistance, or would like to chat about delicious and necessary excessive carb intake.  Thanks for visiting!
